Ferndown Golf Club

Green Fees From: £85

Designed to both challenge and delight players of every level, the subtle hazards, the well positioned bunkers and beautiful Heathland setting will stimulate your senses.

Ferndown Golf Club with its stunning outlook enjoys pristine Tee to Green grooming, often leading to the course being favourably compared to the world-famous Augusta.

Both are easily walked, level courses with delightful greens and a peaceful location. The Old Course, in particular, really hits the sweet spot of peace and tranquility. Combined they offer 27 holes of pure enjoyment.

Good example of a heather and pine course, whose best hole is the cracking 6th. A course that takes you on a lovely journey. Some really good holes in a dreamy setting. A mini Augusta…on the edge of, um, Bournemouth. This classic heathland keeps impressing. Ferndown’s immaculate mixture of heather and pine is a winning combination: it’s also a course of tight fairways, subtle greens and plentiful bunkers requiring careful strategy as opposed to brute force.

Ferndown is not just about the Old Course and in fact is the home of has two excellent golf courses – the Old Course and The Presidents Course. The Old Course has hosted a number of professional tournaments over the years and provides a challenging test to golfers of all abilities while the nine hole Presidents layout demands accuracy and concentration to negotiate the natural hazards. The golf club is synonymous with Harold Hilton, the double amateur chamption who designed the golf course and the Alliss family – Percy was the professional while son Peter learned the game here.
