Aberdovey Golf Club is enchantingly set within the Snowdonia National Park at the mouth of the Dovey Estuary, and the links are wedged between the Cambrian Mountain range and the shore.

Established in 1892, Aberdovey is one of the oldest courses in Wales and the birthplace of the Welsh Golfing Union. The course is consistently ranked in the Top 100 of British Courses, and most recently ranked 3rd in Wales by National Club Golfer. The setting is matchless with the equivalent golfing challenge, over the years the club has hosted countless national events and is currently the host venue of the Welsh Seniors Championship.

Despite its old age, Aberdovey is not short, a true links course measuring over 6,500 yards from the back tees. It will test, and has tested, the very best golfers, playing host to a number of amateur championships over the years. It was here that Ian Woosnam came to practise on firm, fast greens prior to playing in the U.S. Masters each April. The course offers a challenge from a range of tees for golfers of all abilities.

Like many links courses created around the turn of the twentieth century, Aberdovey is very much an out and back loop, and is affected distinctly by the elements. The wind coming off the bay can range from a gentle breeze to a howling gale, transforming the character of the course in turn. New tees have lengthened the existing James Braid layout to attract more tournament golf to the links; having previously hosted a number of national amateur events, Aberdovey is a well established championship venue.
