When it comes to setting and views of the course and beyond, Aberystwyth is an absolute beauty.

The delightful downland/parkland mix at Aberystwyth Golf Club was designed by Harry Vardon over a century ago, and it is an extremely friendly club that is largely run by its members and presented in superb condition. It is a short way down the beautiful coastline from both Aberdovey and Borth & Ynyslas, but could hardly be more different in style. We cannot imagine how any golf lover could fail to enjoy Aberystwyth. Its members and small greenkeeping team are doing a fantastic job and if you are in the area, or can get yourself there, we thoroughly recommend a visit.

Aberystwyth is a great test for golfers of all abilities. The 18 hole course extends to 6,126 yards and is well maintained. The golf course is situated above the university town of Aberystwyth overlooking Cardigan Bay. A round of golf will give you views of the magnificent West Wales coast which are truly spectacular. They take in the mountains of Snowdonia to the north and sweep round to the Preseli Hills of Pembrokeshire in the south.

Sitting within a stone’s throw from the beach, the pub has stunning views over Cardigan Bay and no matter what the season, it’s always the best place to watch the changing tides from calm summer days where the dolphins can often be spotted playing in the shores to the wild winter months when the waves crash down onto the beach below.
