At 6605 yards in length from the tee on the first hole all the way over some excellent and luxurious heathland – unusually for Hertfordshire – to the pin on the eighteenth hole, the course at Berkhamstead Golf Club has been laid out to exacting USGA championship standards. Therefore, you too can experience what it is like to feel like Tiger or Ernie for a round or two if you play there.
It was founded in 1890, making it one of the older courses in the region and was designed by renowned golf course architect G H Gowring. He certainly made the most of the natural landscape, blending in many of its features to make the course all the more demanding a prospect.
