This beautiful, tree-lined, 18-hole course was founded in 1907, designed by none other than 5-times Open Champion James Braid.

The parkland course is 6,357 yards long with two par-5s, four par-3s and a par of 70 (73 for ladies).

With a pleasant terrain, short walks between green and tee, and a sunny climate, this is a lovely place to be and to play golf. The condition of the course is excellent thanks to the hard work and care put into it by the green keeping staff under the expert eye of our Course Manager, James Rattenbury. This is reflected by the Club hosting numerous prestigious events such as the Essex Open (PGA), the Essex Amateur Championship, the East Anglian Amateur Championship and the prestigious Eastern Region PGA Championship and the Eastern Region Championship Pro-Am.

Colchester Golf Club is a great place to test your game.

They recently installed a £750,000 state-of-the-art irrigation system to keep our tees, greens, aprons and surrounds in fine condition. They are a non-profit making members club, owned and run by the members for the benefit of the members and the local community.

We would love you to come and enjoy our great course, food and drinks. We have green fee tickets for all-day and 18 holes. Please phone the Professional in advance so they can organise a suitable time for you.

We operate a first-come-first-off starting system on both the 1st and 11th tees – except when they have been booked for a competition, match or society – so please ring first. We do require evidence of playing ability e.g. a handicap certificate or CDH number.
