Top links and a severe examination when the wind is blowing. Conwy is the only Open Championship qualifying venue in Wales and needs to be treated with utmost respect, especially the closing three holes which are fraught with danger.

One of the best courses in North Wales, this classy historic links provides a stern examination, specially during the winter when the wind is blowing. It’s in excellent condition throughout the year, but be warned, the highly challenging final three holes have ruined many a good scorecard.

Links-wise it’s the pride of Wales along with Royal Porthcawl. This top links layout enjoys a breathtaking North Wales coastline location with several holes running around the estuary while the back nine is dramatically played out under the Conwy mountains. Make sure you pitch up with your A game – if not you’ll have to be content with the breathtaking views over the bay to Llandudno and Anglesey.
