Erskine Golf Club, arguably one of the finest golf courses in the West of Scotland. Designed by Troon Professional Willie Fernie, James Braid and Dr. Alastair MacKenzie, Erskine Golf Club was the venue for the Scottish Professional Championship in 1991, won by Sam Torrance.

This golf course simply has to be played to be appreciated. Having recently reached its centenary year, Erskine is a club steeped in history and tradition that earns rave reviews from all who have had the opportunity to play here. The tranquility and beauty of the surroundings ensure a memorable golfing experience. The course offers the opportunity for golfers of all skill levels to test their ability and has many memorable holes.

With adequate shelter from the elements provided by mature trees, and the surrounding hills, Erskine can be played and enjoyed all year round. Offering commanding views of the Kilpatrick Hills and the Clyde Estuary, to play golf here is an experience not to be forgotten.

Some of golf’s greats have had a hand in shaping Erskine Golf Course, but the club owes its existence to the unaided enterprise of William Arthur Baird, a young man with an impeccable golfing pedigree stretching back to the dawn of club golf in the 19th century.

When the 12th Lord Blantyre died in 1890, with no male heir, the Erskine Estate passed to his 21-year old grandson W. A. Baird. His paternal grand-father was Sir David Baird, Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, and founder member and first Captain of North Berwick Golf Club in 1832. Sir David features in many famous St Andrews matches of the 19th century.

Each Lodge can sleep up to 10 guests. Comprising of three super king bedrooms which can be configured into three twin bedrooms and two king bedrooms.
There are three en-suite bathrooms, one main bathroom and one accessible bathroom. The upstairs master bedroom has a stowaway bed which is perfect for small children with option for additional travel cots. Each lodge has large open plan kitchen, dining and living space perfect for large group entertaining. All gardens are private and fenced ensure all little 2 legged and 4 legged family members are safe. Please note that your wood fired hot tubs will not be lite for arrival unless the pre heat service is added when booking. Your hot tub will take about 2 to 3 hours to get up to temperature.

The village of Houston is the perfect location for exploring all the west of Scotland has to offer. Surrounded in countryside Lowwood lodges are the in the ideal location for golf, countryside walks or bike rides. With its central location it also provides brilliant City links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Perth giving you the perfect mix of country and city.

Aside from great golf courses, the lodges are near fishing spots and other recreational activities like paintballing, clay pigeon shooting, and a trampoline park. Shopping options include Braehead, Silverburn, and Glasgow City Centre. You can also visit Loch Lomond Shores, the aquarium, or take a seaplane ride. There are several places to eat nearby, including pubs, a coffee shop, Italian and other restaurants.
