Established in 1896, Edgbaston Golf Club is considered one of the best private member golf clubs in the Midlands, with an 18 hole course designed by H.S. Colt in a unique setting, just one mile from the centre of Birmingham.

A fabulous golf course which offers a warm welcome to visitors and societies by prior arrangement. Amid the splendour of this wonderful parkland course, it is difficult to imagine that Birmingham is so close. The course includes an ornamental lake and plays through mature and extensive woodland with small greens and tight fairways. The magnificent clubhouse, the wonderful food and, most of all, the guaranteed warmth of your welcome by our staff and our members will make your visit to Edgbaston a real joy.

If you and a few friends would like to play the course as casual visitors, or you are the organiser of a small or large society, or you are looking for a venue for a luncheon, dinner or a business seminar then they will be delighted to think that you may wish to visit them and use the facilities.

The Golf Course was laid out in 1936 by the legendary H S Colt who was also responsible for the design and remodelling of many famous courses including the New and Eden courses at St Andrews, Muirfield, Sunningdale and Royal St Georges. Edgbaston is a natural parkland course surrounded by mature woodland. It is a challenging course that demands accurate play to its small greens. Edgbaston was nominated as one of the top 200 courses in the UK by Peter Alliss.

Edgbaston is a par 69 course. It is not particularly long in length but it does require some well thought out shots to score low.

There are many pitfalls awaiting the stray shot and tight undulating greens that will punish poor putts. Edgbaston is an enjoyable course that will demand your best attention.

They have converted an elegant Victorian villa in leafy Edgbaston village to create 12 individually-designed en-suite rooms with full air-conditioning. They have filled the rooms with hand-picked antiques and top quality beds which go hand-in-hand with the latest technology for a comfortable well-connected stay. The Town House is just five minutes from the city centre, but feels tranquil and relaxing. It is run in conjunction with The High Field next door, the smart and popular gastropub they opened in 2014, serving fresh seasonal British food and drink all day.

They offer twelve rooms, ranging from Cosy to Premium. Several can be configured as Twins or Superkings, and several also accommodate a high-quality folding bed for a third guest. Please ask when booking if you would like the room configuring differently from a standard double bed. As the Town House is a historic listed building, each room has its own character and is a little different from all the others.
The Sitting Room just inside the front door is the place to pick up a paper, talk to our team, or help yourself to a free coffee or a drink from the Honesty Bar. All other food and drink is provided next door in The High Field, their very popular gastropub.

The High Field is just across the driveway from The Town House, serving top-quality seasonal British food and drink, with a very warm welcome to match. They always serve the good stuff, that you want to eat and drink. As well as celebrating the increasingly-vibrant British food culture, the focus on seasonal ingredients means they buy the best stuff when it’s at the best price. All the chicken, eggs and pork are free-range. Their lamb is Cornish and most of our native fish is landed from coastal day-boats. They love being a real pub as well as a great Gastropub. They have a range of Continental beers as well as local ales, and are serious about our spirits and cocktails too.
