We are a members’ club which offers a warm welcome to both members and visitors alike, located just under four miles from the centre of Ipswich and readily accessible from the A12 and A14.

The Purdis Heath course is consistently ranked by Golf World in the top 100 Golf Courses in England.

Ipswich Golf Club has been in existence for over 125 years, the original course having been on “common land” at the nearby Rushmere Heath until 1926 when the club moved to its current Purdis Heath location. The 9-hole Bixley course was added to the prestigious 18-hole Purdis Heath course 40 years later and both courses are maintained to the same high standard providing golfers with an exceptional challenge over beautifully maintained heathland.

A major remodelling program of all the bunkers on the Purdis Heath course has been completed within recent years and the clubhouse has undergone a complete refurbishment of its bars and dining areas.

Ipswich Golf Club is an England Club Championship venue. We have hosted several prestigious national golf competitions, including the Logan Trophy (2011) and the English Women’s Amateur Strokeplay Championship (2019).
