Winding its way through 230 acres of gentle undulating Leicestershire countryside, Willesley Park Golf Club in Ashby de la Zouch is the stunning setting for one of the midlands premier golfing venues.

The club is very easily accessed via Junction 12 off the M42, the course entrance is to be found on your left as you approach the historic market town of Ashby de la Zouch.

From the 1st tee shot, where accuracy is paramount hitting the ball through an historic avenue of lime trees, to the long and challenging 18th with its demanding drive followed by the green nestled within the backdrop of the clubhouse, a round of golf at Willesley Park will test your golfing skill but removes you from the day to day pressures in a haven of natural beauty.

Laid out in exsiting mature parkland in 1920, Willesley Park is home to the annual Leicestershire Fox and has long been recognised as one of Leicestershire’s leading courses. This beautiful heath and park land course is set in the National Forest in North West Leicestershire and offers open views of the surrounding countryside and historic town of Ashby de la Zouch.

Offering a fair challenge to golfers of all standards, Willesley Park’s fairways wander through distinct areas of parkland, woodland and heath providing an undulating golfing terrain of great variety.

With generous, tree lined fairways and well protected greens providing excellent putting surfaces, Willesley Park is an excellent test. Each hole has an individual character and is appropriately named to reflect this.

The picturesque 10th hole, Lakeside which at 151 yards is one of the shortest on the course appears on the card to be straightforward. However with the green set some 60 feet below the tee and bunkers left and right it requires a accurate and well struck tee shot to find the green.

The 18th, Ivanhoe, at 435 yards appears to be a challenge in length alone. However, playing both a drive and approach shot into an upslope, and with out of bounds immediately behind the green this makes for one of the best closing holes in Leicestershire.
