Lying at the heart of the Arnside and Silverdale AONB, Lancashire, and adjacent to the Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, Silverdale Golf Club is set in a stunning location and has fabulous views over the surrounding countryside, across Morecambe Bay and towards the Cumbrian Howgill Fells.

The surrounding scenery may be breathtaking, but the course is special too. The course is beautiful, the quality of our greens exceptional, and the changing character of each hole ensures you have an interesting and enjoyable round. Whilst there are opportunities for birdies, there are also challenging holes, and this is why the course appeals to golfers of all ages and abilities.

We are known as the “friendly” club and welcome all visitors, young and old, to come and enjoy a round of golf at our wonderful club.

We are indebted to our ground staff who maintain the course in excellent condition throughout the year. During the winter months in particular, we get many visitors as we are one of the few courses open for play!

Our recently fully refurbished and Camra Award winning Clubhouse is open to the public, where you can enjoy a drink, light snack or full meal. Fish’n’chip Fridays are very popular, so booking is advised.

Silverdale Golf Club is an 18-hole course set in beautiful countryside near Carnforth between Lancaster and Kendal.

The course is in the “Arnside & SIlverdale AONB” (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and is an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) in view of our diversity of plants, particularly the rare Ladies Slipper Orchid. Early morning golfers may see roe and fallow deer, but all will have wonderful views of Morecambe Bay, the Lakeland Mountains and Howgill Fells.

Our 18 hole course is a par 70 (5654 yards) and is a course of two halves, each of differing character. Much of the old part of Silverdale Golf Course stands on a limestone ridge, which gives our course much of its character and also accounts for our excellent drainage.

Holes 2 – 10 are rolling open parkland, with Myers Dyke presenting a challenge on 3 holes. The older part of the course (holes 1, 11-18) features a combination of tight valleys, heathland and limestone pavement typical of the area.

The13th hole “The Plateau” is our signature hole and is recorded in ‘Britain’s 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes’ as No 24. It can ruin many a card, but good golfers play this hole well and see the hole as a birdie opportunity.

Our members are rightly proud of the course which is kept in excellent condition by our talented greens staff. Our superb quality greens can be lightning fast, presenting a challenge in reading both line and pace.

Escape to the water’s edge at Tewitfield Marina. We offer self-catering holiday accommodation set within a picturesque marina complex. Ideally located on the Lancashire and Cumbria border near Carnforth, our apartments sit alongside the historic Tewitfield Locks on the Lancaster Canal.
