The Deal course is traditionally laid out on a superb strip of seaside duneland extending to Sandwich Bay. The natural links terrain has been subtly used to provide a wide variety of challenges. Every hole is unique with undulating greens and fast, firm approaches. Unlike most other courses the fairways are just as undulating providing a true test of golf.

As with all traditional seaside links, the wind is a major factor which has to be taken into account when deciding on club and shot selection. The bunkers (67 in total) are large but fair and easily seen from the tees and fairways, and are in the most part steep and revetted. Not all holes have bunkers but this in no way diminishes their degree of difficulty.

Royal Cinque Ports can’t quite match its neighbour Royal St George’s, but it’s not far off, making it one of the best golf courses in England.Royal Cinque Ports suffers in that familiar way of having a premium course as its neighbour (being less than 10 minutes’ drive to Royal St George’s), but few who are travelling along the road which divides the handsome clubhouse from the 1st tee will not feel the urge to pull over.

They are a two-ball Club, with three and four-ball play permitted.

The Blue Pigeons is stunning boutique hotel and restaurant situated in the pretty village of Worth, Kent. Housed in a Grade II listed Georgian rectory dating back to 1839, it has recently reopened after a multi-million-pound refurbishment and has been lovingly transformed by the new local family owners.
